Austen & Chelsie

How They Met

Chelsie and Austen first met at a HighRidge Young Adults service. They became acquaintances over time, and would see each other here and there at church. They both took notice of each other at social gatherings, church events and later at small group. Around April, a group of people started to go two stepping at Guitars and Cadillacs, and Austen consistently went. Chelsie on the other hand had been reluctant into going dancing, as she had never known how to two step. After weeks of her coworkers/friends trying to convince her to go, she finally gave in and went dancing with the group. They had talked up Austen and shared what a great dancer he was and how he could teach Chelsie how to dance. She was nervous in going, but Austen asked her to dance and from there they quickly became good friends over many dances, camp fires, and game nights with friends. At the end of May, they both expressed interest in each other and started to pursue each other intentionally.

The Proposal

Austen proposed at his parents lake house in Granbury on December 1st, 2018 where he and Chelsie had spent many days getting to know each other, spent time with family and went out on the water. He proposed on the dock where he first told Chelsie “I love you.” That was the moment they both knew they wanted to marry each other.

The Ring

Chelsie's ring is an Art-Deco era inspired piece, with milgrain detailing each edge of the ring. The tapered band showcases a beautiful oval diamond that Austen hand selected for his bride! The head of the ring is made of platinum for extra center-stone security and diamonds cover the entire basket and prongs. For her wedding band, Chelsie chose a double banded ring, one row with larger diamonds and the other with daintier diamonds. Austen's wedding band is a classic yellow gold comfort-fit band that complements his Aggie ring well.

The Wedding

Chelsie and Austen became one at the Nest at Ruth Farms in Ponder, Texas on April 12th, 2019. I loved being able to witness these two exchange their vows and rings. It was a privilege to attend this celebration!
